JFK Terminal 1

JFK Terminal 1 was opened in 1998, at the direction of the Terminal One Group, a consortium of several key operating carriers.

Terminal 1 is able to handle Airbus A380 aircraft and altogether with Terminal 4, has the capacity to carry the superjumbo aircraft.

Please, take into consideration that AirTrain facilities at Terminal 1 may be unavailable due to reconstruction works.

Levels

Level 1

Arrivals area and baggage claim. 

Arrivals area. Passengers arrive here at the baggage claim area and can find some amenities. Access to ground transportation this way, as well as the AirTrain station.

Level 2

International arrivals.

International arrivals area. 

Level 3

Check-in an access to departures. Take into account that security check at Terminal 1 of JFK takes more or less 10 minutes. However, times may change so plan accordingly. 

In this level is where all Check-in desks are located. As well as Departures. So gates are located here. Gates 1 to 12. 

Level 4

Find here the FoodnCourt and access to AirTrain. 

Walking times from security check to gates: 

Time to the farthest gate (12, 9 and 8): 4 minutes. 
Other gates (1,23) are located between 1 to 3 minutes walking. 


Transportation between terminals

[currently closed due to reconstruction works. Please always check prior to travelling.] By the AirTrain system is easy to transfer between terminals at John F. Kennedy Airport, since all airport terminals are connected to its network. Train frequency is every 2 to 5 minutes and operates 24/7. Service is free between terminals. You can also connect to the parking lots, hotel shuttle and rental car facilities.
